The Putney General Store combines the old-world charm of a classic general store, with the convenience of one-stop shopping, where you can find everything you need. From groceries, to breakfast, lunch and dinner specials, to creative and educational toys to video and DVD rentals. Come to the Putney General Store, and shop "the Center of Putney," since 1843. Mr. Erhan Oge purchased the Putney General Store in 2006. The 18th owner, Erhan also owns and operates Putney Village Pizza. Born and raised in Turkey, Erhan moved to the US in 1998 after two years of college; mastering in business management. His wife Tugce Okumus, was also born in Turkey, moved to the US in 2001, (they married on June 4th 2006). Both hard workers and in love with each other (and Putney) they purchased the Putney General store to make a difference in the community (and perhaps also some money).

Erhan and Tugce have plans for the store, which include new wide board flooring, new refrigeration units, cleaning up the run down spaces, and adding a larger variety of food items. One thing they are considering adding is bit of ethnic flair with cultural food offerings, a salad bar, an ethnic food section and perhaps some surprises.
